Barabao company avails itself of the help of a group of professional readers who use theatrical creation to realise expressive readings. Through the sperimentation of several reading techniques, different entertainment methods and performing styles, we present readings which blend the cultural growth with the pleasure of listening, in which spectatorship becomes active participation. Through the activity of reading out, we want to bring audiences of all ages closer to the written word, with the intention of stimulating curiosity through an object – the book – which takes life and creates worlds. BARABAO presents readings in different social environments such as: PUBLIC LIBRARIES, SCHOOLS, DAYCARE CENTERS FOR CHILDREN, BOOKSHOPS, PARKS and last but not least HOMES. We believe that the pleasure of reading as well as cultural inputs should arrive everywhere. Everywhere imagination and creativity can be developed, and especially through the fusion between thatrical art and the magical stories hiding in books. The company collaborates with several city councils from the area and the province of Padua with RetEventi, organises the Youth Theatre and Reading season SCENARI DI CARTA (PAPER LANDSCAPES), considering it an important occasion of meeting and debate about theatre and reading for children, youth and families.

The participants will see a cardboard model of the Globe Theatre and find out how plays were performed inside.
The readers involved in the project regularly prepare and perform themed readings, related to specific festivities or occasions. These can also be specifically commissioned for private events.
For example, “The greates women who changed the world” or women’s day, or “Dad, could you get the moon for me please?” on father’s day, and many more. |
